George the Salon, part deux
George the Salon, part deux. Okay, so let’s talk skincare … AGAIN. January 2017 marked new beginnings for Alex Duffy in SO MANY ways. Number 1 on that new beginnings list? Skincare.
Say it with me: SKIN-CARE.
And let me tell you, when it comes to make-up’s “foundation” it really DOES start there (and not the cakey look you see on the streets!). This new found realization is my secret to only wearing make up 2-3 times a week.
Moving to Chicago 2 and 1/2 years ago was the best decision I made for my person, but not for my skin. Between the water and the city-air, my face was breaking out ALL OVER the place — to the point of tears and affecting relationships.
But FINALLY it all clicked back in January! It wasn’t until I heard the words from my esthetician, “Your skin is mad at you, she’s angry and needs products with calming-elements.”
Q (I pressed further): Okay, so what does that mean?
A: You need to use more antioxidants, floral extracts and layers of moisturizer before bed!*
After that — it was off to the Amazon races … next thing I knew I hit the purchase button on over $300 dollars worth of skincare products in my cart.
- Yes, that was a lot of money.
- No, I haven’t had to purchase refills yet.
- Yes, it’s worked.
- So yes (Dad (who is probably reading this and pulling his hair out!)), it was worth it!
- Here are all the products I purchased on Amazon: I’m A Real Sheet Mask, Asterwood Naturals — Vitamin C Serum, Rose Hip Oil by Kate Blanc, Mario Badescu Cermiade Eye Cream, Tree Hut Skincare Renewing Night Chamomile Night Cream + Hydrating Overnight Chamomile Mask, Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist (for when I’m on the go!) and finally — Dermalogica’s Ultra Calming Mist.

Alright, alright — let’s get back to the real purpose of this blog post: George the Salon and their amazing Time Lapse Facial .
Q: What is a Time Lapse Facial?
A: This facial combines the anti-aging and rejuvenating powers of Dermaplane, Light Therapy and a Chemical Peel, this 90-minute session will help to rebuild the skin, giving it a smoother texture for a flawless, bright complexion.
Q: WTF is Dermaplaning?
A: Hah! Good question — This high exfoliation, non-invasive treatment is similar to microdermabrasion. It uses a blade to remove several layers of dead skin build up.
Q: And “Light Therapy” and WOAH, what is a “Chemical Peel?!”
A: Light Therapy is the ultrasonic stimulation can boost elasticity, leaving skin taut and toned. And George’s chemical peel includes a chemical or strong enzyme peel depending on the sensitivity of the skin.
None of this is scary at all — SWEAR!
Try it for yourself, it’s only $250 for 90 minutes. Call George (and ask for Lindsey! She’s the gal who gave me the Time Lapse Facial and is FANTABULOUS!) at 312-923-9444.
xo, Duffy
