Where to Mountain Hike in Boulder: Mount Sanitas
Where to Mountain Hike in Boulder: Mount Sanitas. I flew into Colorado yesterday, my flight was at 6am. This travel trip — isn’t for work, I’m visiting my cousin, Daisy America. Except that’s not her real name. Haha, long story, but her real name is Deanne.
After landing at Denver International Airport (V confused with that terminal system BTW) I took a bus into Boulder, where Dee lives. It wasn’t even 9a and I had already flown, ate a jelly donut, had two cups of coffee and took a 45 minute bus ride between two cities.
Yesterday Dee showed me around her hometown. We went for french fries at one of her favorite restaurants close-by called Boulder Depot. Then we drove to Pearl Street to live that posh, downtown Boulder life. There were book stores, candy stores, dispensaries, spiritual and metaphysical shops, jewelry and shoe stores! But this outdoor mall wasn’t like the ones we’re used to in IL or PA … it was cute, walkable, easy energy and creative signage with cool, intricate entry ways. Heaven on Earth.
I kept telling Deanne, “I want to move here! Buuuuuut, I can’t … I’d miss those Chicago buildings, her city streets and sirens too much.” Maybe in 10 years??
In the last seven months, I’ve made a choice to change my lifestyle. Keeping my spaces clean by putting work in daily, (Shelley Duffy is super happy about this BTW, she’s a clean FREAK), I’ve taken great interest in skincare (the city water ain’t workin’ for me), I’m studying energy, yoga and spirituality. It’s clear to me, for me, that taking care and compassion towards this works for me. I feel open, weightless, balanced, positive and more confident.
So this trip to Boulder is perfect! This place is THE spot to culminate my practice my new ways of living and thinking … the city is immersed a vortex of similar thought.
Of course, with this lifestyle comes outdoorsy activities (eek, I’m scared!) — which if you’ve ever met me, I’m not one to happily hike up the trail that was Mount Sanitas today. But! Climbing my bum up that big ass hill is NOT the point of the post. The point is to exclaim my excitement for styling this look to hike up and down the steep grade! And also, to take pictures, I took lots of pictures =)
Q: My look?
A: Leggings are American Apparel, Nike snakeskin sneaks, a black sports bra I cannot tell you who made it or where it’s from, a Arc-teryx visor, Ray-ban sunglasses accessorized with a vintage Anne Klien miniature cross-body with a jade and hematite grounding rings.
