Vintage Mickey Mouse.
Vintage Mickey Mouse. Two years ago I walked into my Fathers house and found a stack of (what immediately looked like) vintage tee shirts. Before even asking where they came from, my hands sorted through them. The shirts, downstairs from the attic, belonged to my mom and dad during their high school and college days – how cool!
A few of the tees in the stack weren’t wearable … attic effects and such. But! This Mickey Mouse tee was a salvageable one I picked out of the bunch. From the writing on it, the tee looks like it was physically purchased in Walt Disney World. I’m not even sure what time in my parents lives this tee comes from? It’s definitely from the 80s … before I was born. This gem has gotta be older than me … I went to WDW when I was a kid, but I don’t remember either one of my parents purchasing this.
See, that’s what I love about vintage clothes! There is a story behind how each piece got there in the first place. I have to ask Shells and Jduff (read also: Mom and Dad) more about the history of this piece when I’m home for the Holidays.
The tee is Disney © 1980, vintage from my Dad — sweater is my favorite thrifted “Grandpa Sweater,” the jeans are H&M, earrings are also vintage, booties are from Aldo and sunglasses are Forever21.
