SS16 Romona Keveza
SS16 Romona Keveza. Rounding out the final post here re: SS16 New York Fashion Week Coverage. Ladies and gentleman, have you met Romona Keveza? Well if not, you should. This designers gowns are GORGEOUS. And I can guarantee, if you’ve watched any sort of red carpet … you’ve seen her creations. Jennifer Hudson at the 2015 Oscars, wore a STUNNING yellow gown. It was Romona’s.
My experience at Romona Keveza’s boutique on the 33rd floor of Rockefellar Plaza was an intimate and exquisite experience. I was greeted at the boutique’s door by 3 of Romona’s best associates.
After we exchanged pleasantries, they served me a much needed cup of coffee. I hadn’t had any at that point in the day … and it was already 12noon. I’m really not sure how my body managed to keep itself up right? Haha.
Anyways, the experience was unlike any I’d ever had at Fashion Week. I think I’ve mentioned this before: but NYFW as we know it, is changing. For the last few years, it’s been more about ‘whose there’ than what the FW is actually supposed to be about: the fashion.
Designers are moving towards closer-knit previews, such as this one with Romona. Their only inviting those bloggers, press and industry experts who they feel will capture the proper messaging and knowledge of the seasonal collections.
The pictures in this post are direct from Romona’s SS16 lookbook. The first image, of the gal in red, is my favorite dress … I think, ever. I swear I’d wear this down the aisle; yes, I’d wear this red gown down the aisle, I love it that much. This red is Romona’s signature color: #RomonaRed.
You see those floral designs? Yep – those were hand-painted. The detail and thought that goes into everyone of Romona’s designs is unparalleled.
During my private viewing of the collection, I was actually able to get up close and personal to the pieces. The model walked right up to me, so I could feel the fabric and see the details. If I ever attended a red carpet event … or decide to get married in a color other than white, Romona Keveza is where I’m going.

PS – Thanks for following along during my NYFW adventures! It’s been such a pleasure sharing this with all of you. Until next season … (FW16)
