FW15 Mongol.
This was new! And yes – I mean the designer… was/is new.В Bayarmaa Bayarkhuu, female designer behind the brand Mongol hosted her very first New York Fashion Week show on February 13th at 10a.
If you can’t already tell by the name, Mongol, based out of and inspired by Mongolia (where Bayarkhuu was born and raised). I would describe the pieces down the Runway at this show as well-versed and eccentric. We saw male models down this Runway, too!
Sheer raincoats lined with lime green – traditional Mongolian prints sprinkled throughout the collection… my most favorite pieces? …were the metallic mesh fabric, they were made into one-pieces and had unique detailing… shoulder cut-outs or an intricately designed collars.
We also saw lots of (faux?) fur coats. We either saw the fur, as a full coat or at least part of the ensemble. The fur lined the models necks or their wrists. We saw a few touches of sequins (red, in particular) plus some beaded accessories.
The collection had a lot of elements to it, Mongol’s lead designer didn’t really stay with one design, or one fabric – I remember thinking to myself how long the show was too. Which isn’t to be associated as a bad thing… the more fashion, the better рџ‰ My favorite looks below…
