3 Ways to Style Fur
3 Ways to Style Fur. Good morning, DuffyDossier Readers!
Today I have the pleasure of talking with you about a piece of clothing I LOVE to style. Fur. Now – I know the topic is quite controversial, but I’m not a vegetarian. And neither is my wardrobe.
Before the turn of the New Year, I attended Susanin’s Auctioneers Holiday Party. Of which, they were holding one of their biggest bidding parties of the year. Antiques, cute trinkets, vintage clothes — but most of all the FURS they’ve inherited are beyond amazing.
We decided to work together to curate this post: “3 Ways to Style Your Fur”.
We will start with my favorite piece I came across that night… a blanket/scarf! For one, blanket scarves are so in right now – and for two, add the detail of vintage fur to the mix and you have the best of both worlds. With this piece, I’d choose a neutral color or consistent color throughout the basics of the outfit. Throw the blanket scarf around your shoulders and pop a belt around your waist! (belt not pictured)
…then we have this look. The point to focus on here is the color of this bad boy. It’s a deep, chocolate, beautiful brown. When picking a fur – the best way to style it effortlessly is to pick a piece that goes with EVERYTHING. Choose a fur that’s simple, yet makes a statement.
And then, there was one. I lied, there was a tie between my favorites. This baby doll fit me perfectly. She was cut semi-balero and her soft white furriness is enough to wear with just a boudoir set. But! If you want to put some clothes on a take her out on the town… Put on some slick black skinny pants and a black top with a deep v-neck. We choose the all black ensemble underneath this number because we want to make it look like its “standing alone”. Grey, tan, and any other matte-looking solid colors and pieces that match themselves and fit slim to your body would also work.
xo, Duffy
