FGIChicago Trend Presentation at Saks
FGIChicago Trend Presentation at Saks. I haven’t blogged in like a week. There’s something wrong with me! Lol – no, I’ve been busy on the home-front. AKA – the business side of things with Social Media & Co. (www.twitter.com/socialmediaco_) …you know that old story – #grind. I’m quite the perfectionist (which isn’t a good thing all the time) and I let the pressure get to my head and it screws everything up. It’s almost like I’m ahead of myself – like my brain is 3 steps from where reality is at. Anyways, I digress. #ItsAllGood.
Today’s post is all about last night’s very chic and very informational @FGIChicago Event. What’s FGI? Well – I’m glad you asked! FGI stands for Fashion Group International – a global, non-profit, professional organization with over 500 members in the Fashion Industry. I was a member in Pittsburgh’s Provisional Chapter (and still consider myself a ‘ghost’ member… because I miss you guys!!) and now, I’ve transferred my membership to Chicago since hoofing all my clothes and shoes here рџ‰
I showed up a bit late, I knew that was going to happen though – I had meetings to tend to. So, I missed the cocktail hour (heavy sigh), but showed up just in time for the #SpringSummer2015 recap-presentation. Which means, I relived my time spent at Fashion Week this past September… #swoon. I seriously can’t wait for Spring! Ah, February can’t come soon enough.
We talked about the trends that are coming for this season… bucket bags, leather will still spearhead – even fur, we have stripes in all different directions, the 70s and 80s are still hangin’ tight – with fringe (thank goodness!). Round sunglasses, sheer appliquГ©s, crop tops and vfeminine silhouettes.
We talked Oscar de la Renta and his beautiful contribution to the world of Fashion; McQueen came back into my head, too – did you know? His knuckle clutches, are considered weapons if you try to take them through TSA…. they’ll confiscate them! You’ve been warned. (also – who wants to buy me one of those? please and thank you).
To refresh our memories – here are some photos from New York Fashion Week this #SS15 season… all photographed by Erica L’Etrange. (First two are Meskita, last two are M&E).
Meskita and Mark & Estel are featured below.
